When we choose to be vegan, we choose compassion over violence and choose to show kindness to all creatures. I&#8217;m not going to go deep into the history behind veganism, because most of you will be familiar with it. I will however, give you a definition from the <strong>V<em>egan Society<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.078), 15px);\"><em>&#8220;Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude- as far as is possible and practicable all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose, and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of  dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:italic;font-weight:200\">&#8220;Eating meat extinguishes the great seed of compassion&#8221;-<br>Buddha <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-border-color has-white-border-color has-white-color has-black-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-793e531b5defb0fa4404d9f75ffa5db5 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"border-width:5px;font-style:normal;font-weight:200\"><em>Choose compassion for all living beings<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"HOW TO GO VEGAN (in 5 simple steps).\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1YnJqoPmR8s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-style:italic;font-weight:300\">A Poem for Vegans<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">I met a vegan in Oman,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">With a gleam in his eyes,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">And love in the palm of his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">Though once a farmer on dusty plains;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">He would work the system;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">Prayin for heavy rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">I came to know him as any<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">curious fellow would,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">And though my past rocky,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">It was in a new clearing&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">I now stood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">The man &#8211; he was propagating<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">seeds of compassion and hope,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">The toll to rectify wrongs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">of a weary planet that couldn\u2019t cope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">In a world overcome by greed and fear,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">It was all a lonesome fellow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">like me needed to hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">Now, it was from the shadows I watched<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">him plant seeds from dusk til\u2019 dawn,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">And it was on day 31,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">That a new me was finally born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">Now with wispy wings, I too<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">hold out my hands with light and love,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">To all living beings I say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:100;line-height:0\">Go forward.
